News from the WECF
President Mike Plant shares the following story as he announces he is stepping down from his leadership role in the WECF:
“… one of my EFCC [Evangelical Fellowship of Congregational Churches] memories is of a minister who retired to a rural area near a church he had once served. The minister left and he accepted a call to a small church with the task, so he thought, of pastoring and burying the congregation. He thought it would probably close in the next few years, but was willing to serve while he could. God worked, the church grew and they have had two ministers since he left. If God’s hand is on you, the possibility of being greatly used in the period the world thinks of as ‘retirement’ is open to us.”
